It’s that special time of year again, friends. Time to hunker down for the winter season here in the Northern hemisphere, and maybe do a little resetting for the year to come. Everyone does this to some extent. The Elites are no exception.
For the ultra-Elites, hunkering down means boarding a private jet and zipping over to an Alpine ski resort town called Davos, Switzerland for the annual pow-wow of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
In case you missed it, I wrote about last year’s meeting here, and provided an overview of the WEF scene. If you’re feeling fancy, I invite you to revisit that little writeup and peruse the links and resources. It might provide some useful background and context for what follows here – which amounts to me just jumping right in for a ramble about the 2024 WEF get-together.
WEF 2024
This year’s heavily-guarded WEF meeting ran from January 15 – Jan 20. Like last year (and 53 previous years) it was a week of good fun for some of the world’s creepiest super-villains, a chance to sip brandy and puff cigars with some old colleagues, fool around with prostitutes, realign themselves with global agendas and such.
The WEF meeting theme for 2024 was “Rebuilding Trust.” I’m going to take that as a positive for now, because I think that’s a pretty strong indication that They suspect that We do not trust Them. I believe their suspicions are valid. They’re not exactly a trustworthy bunch.
Interestingly, this year the WEF presented a risk report (supposedly informed by “1,500 global experts”) that co-ranked Disinformation as the greatest short- and long- term threat to global stability – alongside the Climate Crisis. We mustn’t forget about the Climate Crisis, of course.
It’s worth noting that in the top ten “threats” identified in last year’s WEF’s 2023 risk report, Disinformation was not mentioned. What’s behind Disinformation’s meteoric rise to fame in the eyes of the Elite, I wonder? I mean, they are the undisputed champions of creating Disinformation, after all, so it’s not like they’ve never heard of it.
I’ll attempt to answer my own question: The “Disinformation” that they’ve identified as a top threat is any information that has potential to undermine confidence in their own Disinformation. In other words, they’re deeply concerned about the eroding effectiveness of their propaganda campaigns.
It’s a mindfuck, to be sure, but what the 2024 WEF risk report is effectively saying this: “We hereby declare that the number one threat to the world is human-caused Climate Change. We also declare that there is another number one threat: Any information that reveals that our first declaration is bogus.”
There are some some big balls swinging around over there in Davos, folks.
Milei’s Malaise
A fascinating development in this year’s WEF meeting was that recently-elected Argentine President, Javier Milei, was invited to speak. It’s fascinating because Milei is a proponent of the Austrian school of economics – in other words, a Libertarian. So, on paper, this guy is a strict anti-socialist, and the last person on Earth that you’d ever imagine getting invited to speak at a Socialists’ Convention (which is exactly what the WEF meeting is, in case it needs to be spelled out). More on that in a bit.
Anyway, his speech, was a real humdinger, so I’m including it in its entirety below. This is a Spanish-to-English translation from the on-site interpreter, so please pardon any minor cockups:

Good afternoon. Thank you very much. Today I’m here to tell you that the Western world is in danger. And it is in danger because those who are supposed to defend the values of the West are co-opted by a vision of the world that inexorably leads to socialism and thereby to poverty.
Unfortunately, in recent decades, motivated by some well-meaning individuals willing to help others and others motivated by the wish to belong to a privileged caste, the main leaders of the Western world have abandoned the model of freedom for different versions of what we call collectivism. We’re here to tell you that collectivist experiments are never the solution to the problems that afflict the citizens of the world. Rather, they are the root cause.
Given the dismal failure of collectivist models and the undeniable advances in the free world, socialists were forced to change their agenda. They left behind the class struggle based on the economic system, and replaced this with other supposed social conflicts, which are just as harmful to life as a community and to economic growth.
The first of these new battles was the ridiculous and unnatural fight between man and woman. All that this radical feminism agenda has led to is greater state intervention to hinder the economic process, giving jobs to bureaucrats who have not contributed anything to society. Examples: ministries of women or international organizations devoted to promoting this agenda.
Another conflict introduced by socialists is that of humans against nature, claiming that we human beings damage the planet, which should be protected at all costs, going as far as advocating for population control mechanisms or the bloody abortion agenda.
Unfortunately, these harmful ideas have taken a strong hold in our society. Neo-Marxists have managed to co-opt the common sense of the Western world, and this they have achieved by appropriating the media, culture, universities.
The case of Argentina is a demonstration that no matter how rich you may be or how much you may have in terms of natural resources, or how skilled your population may be, or how educated, or how many bars of gold you may have in the central bank, if measures are adopted that hinder the free functioning of markets, free competition, free price systems, if you hinder trade, if you attack private property, the only possible fate is poverty.
Today, states don’t need to directly control the means of production to control every aspect of the lives of individuals, with tools such printing money, debt, subsidies, controlling the interest rate, price controls, and regulations to correct so-called market failures. They can control the lives and fates of millions of individuals.
A good deal of the generally accepted political policies in most Western countries are collectivist variants, whether they proclaim to be openly communists, fascists, Nazis, socialists, Social Democrats, National Socialists or Christian Democrats.
They are neo-Keynesians, progressive, populist, nationalist or globalists at the bottom. There are no major differences. They all say that the state should steer all aspects of the lives of individuals. They all defend a model contrary to the one that led humanity to the most spectacular progress in its history.
We have come here today to invite the rest of the countries in the Western world to get back on the path of prosperity, economic freedom, limited government, and unlimited respect for private property.
The impoverishment produced by collectivism is no fantasy, nor is it an inescapable fate. But it is a reality that we Argentines know very well. We have lived through this. We have been through this because, as I said earlier, ever since we decided to abandon the model of freedom that had made us rich, we have been caught in a downward spiral, as part of which we become poorer and poorer each day.
In conclusion, I would like to leave a message for all businesspeople here and for those who are not here in person but are following from around the world. Do not be intimidated, either by the political caste or by parasites who live off the state. Do not surrender to a political class that only wants to stay in power and retain its privileges.
You are social benefactors. You are heroes. You’re the creators of the most extraordinary period of prosperity we’ve ever seen. Let no one tell you that your ambition is immoral. If you make money, it’s because you offer a better product at a better price, thereby contributing to general well-being.
Do not surrender to the advance of the state. The state is not the solution. The state is the problem itself. You are the true protagonists of this story and rest assured that as from today, Argentina is your staunch, unconditional ally.

Up until the concluding remarks, that’s something of a peach, ain’t it?
Ripe with what the WEF might call Disinformation, I’d say. So why did the WEF folks invite these words into their earholes?
Phil’s Two Cents
At the top of his speech, it appears that Milei is switched on, singing the song of individual rights above collectivism (socialism), and thus sticking it to The Man. But then he wanders off into a weird and misplaced plea to his audience (Remember: This is an audience at the WEF!) to remain vigilant and never surrender to the State.
What the . . . ?
He’s referring to this crowd of goons as heroes and social benefactors?!
One can only conclude that Milie either doesn’t know to whom he’s speaking, or that he knows exactly to whom he’s speaking.
What does this mean? Is it a trial run, a public unveiling, for an updated propaganda model in which truths and lies are more craftily woven together into a pox-infested blanket?
Time will tell with Milei. If he’s able to improve the lives of Argentinians by actually implementing his proclaimed Libertarian ideals . . . that’s great. That’ll mean he’s one of the good guys, someone who unwittingly told the WEF to go stuff it where the sun doesn’t shine.
However, if Argentinians continue to squirm under the suffocating weight of socialism, then we’ll all know that Milei is nothing more than a Trojan horse for the Elites.
It will be interesting to observe this guy in the coming years. We’re bound to pick up some pointers along the way, one way or another.
As for the WEF itself? It will be interesting to keep an eye on that too.
